Prague Dragon Boat Club

On Saturday February 11th 2012 was the Prague carneval opened. It was during the event "Carnevall city opening" that took place on Staromestske namesti (Old Town Square) in Prague.

This event was started with a carnival procession that walked from Clam-Gallas palace in Husova street. Part of the procession was our chinese dragon. It was a great dominant in the procession and it was in focus of cameras and tourists, inhabitants and all visitors. But our dragon is happy creature and he did enjoy the event very much.

Opening of City Carnival.

The theatrical and acrobatic performaces will take place to warm up every hour on the carnival stage, which is called Divertimento Furioso...and among others there will be also a special appearance of the

"Chinese dragon dance"

At this day new chinese year begins. And now it will be a year of the dragon. A not an ordinary one. This year it will be a Year of the water dragon. Dragon is a symbol of wisdom, strentgh, power, luck and happiness. Dragon is also masetr over water, rainfall, hurricane, and floods.

The beginning is over!

Like in previous years the new year of Prague Dragon Boat Club started with a New Year's Ride.

We invite all dragon boats friends to join us on a traditional ride in Prague city center on New Year's Day. WE WILL SAIL ON WATER IN MORE THAN 30 PEOPLE. AND WE STILL HAVE FREE SEATS!!!

Dear dragon boat friends. The time has to come for our team to return back in old known places. Prague Dragon Boat Club team is going again to challenge other teams in Indonesia.

In the year 2008 we settled on a journey to unknown destination - town of Tanjung Pinang in Indonesia - to take part in their dragon boat festival. At that time we even did not know that their boats are different then chinese boats we know. Our race results were not the best but we gained a very useful experience.
